Clinics for Coaches
Coaching is an on-going learning process. As coaches we learn from our players, other coaches, books, DVDs, and from clinics led by experienced, knowledgeable baseball and softball practioners. Below are listed a number of clinics for baseball and softball coaches. Most are free.
Little League has elevated the importance of coach training and has implemented mandatory requirements for all coaches (including managers). All coaches are now required to attend at least one skills-based clinic every three years. And, at least one of the coaches for each team must attend a skills-based clinic each year.
All coaches need to keep the BELL Board informed about clinics attended. Send emails updating the Board on your status to stromberg_j@comcast.net. Your email should include the name of the clinic and date attended. Please include any clinics taken in the last three years.
Rijo Athletics
Rijo Athletics in Woodinville offers free clinics for coaches every January, February and March. These are an excellent resource for improving coaching skills. When specific dates for clinics are announced we will post them here. For more information about Rijo Athletics go to: http://www.rijoathleticsbaseball.com/rijocoachingclinic.htm
Little league Sponsored Clinics for Coaches
Every year Little League sponsors clinics for coaches to improve their skills in both baseball and softball. Both baseball and softball coaches have benefited form the excellent clinic put on by Al & Al. Also, Michelle Smith put on an excellent clinic in March 2008 in our area. We hope to have both Al & Al and Michelle back next year for their excellent clinics in early 2009. Check back at this web site to see if and when we are able to have these two outstanding clinics return to our area.
Most clinics for coaches are offered in the January to March time frame. We will post announcements for clinics as they become available.
